07:14 pm: Help! I can't remember the manga's name!
There is a manga I was reading. Supposedly takes place in historical Japan when western influence was starting to hit the noble circles. (think victorian dress instead of kimono)
A VERY poor girl with an older brother who is a gambler keeps taking in orphans and raising them - even though she can barely keep herself fed.
A rich guy, who needs to get married to keep his inheritance, basically buys her - promises to take care of all the little kids and her older brother, if she'll become his wife, learning proper manners. But the caveat is that she can never fall in love with him.
His friend & rival falls for the girl, and at first she finds him attractive. But bit by bit, she starts falling for her husband.

Does this strike a bell with anyone?

I knew it sounded familiar - it's Stepping on Roses by Rinko Ueda; she also had another series that I'd read called Tail of the Moon. I like her artwork, but I haven't read this one yet.

That's it. It's listed as Hadashi de Bara wo Fume.
