06:49 am: I am sad. I am so very very sad
One of my favorite people has been staying at my house with my husband and me for the past three weeks.

I had to drive her to the train station to go back to Columbus this morning - she had to be there before 6am.
I am sad to see her leave.

Then, I get to work.
Yesterday, I was due to receive a report from a vendor that had been out of the office for two weeks for the holiday. I asked that they deliver the report as promptly as possible, because my Client was chomping for it. They, at 9am, promised I'd have it shortly. When I hadn't received it by 5pm, I sent an email saying I was disappointed that it had not been delivered.
This is after a history of me asking for reports, them promising them, not delivering, me having to call over and beg for them - then finally us having a meeting where they PROMISED they'd deliver reports regularly and them committing to a schedule.

They emailed my boss, calling me abusive for that email. "She was promised something today and -- it's still today, right?" This at almost one hour after close of business.

I'm starting to wonder why I don't just file bankruptcy and go work at a fast food joint.

03:52 pm: Crinoline for sale
I have a VERY FULL crinoline that I'm selling.
I wore it under my bridal gown on my wedding in 2000. It has not been worn since. It's been kept in a plastic bag, so it's very clean - although a little crinkly, but that will straighten out as it hangs for a while.

I'm going to post it on Craigs List within the next week, unless someone on here says they would like to buy it.

This crinoline sells new for anywhere from $60 - 90. So, make me an offer. (I do NOT expect to get THAT much for it.)

I figure if anyone has a cosplay that needs a full skirt, this would be the item to hold your space for you.

Let me know if I have any takers.

01:47 pm: Just one more thing to add to a porn star resume?
Remember me bitching several months back about the person who brings their dog to my work and has not trained said dog to not bark when left alone - said dog is a little yipyip mutt and whenever he starts barking someone comes to pet him so he's never going to learn to STFU?

Well, there still has been no training for this little mongrel.

And now, he's old enough that he's in heat. How do I know? He rolled onto his back in the middle of our meeting, and it was EXTREMELY apparent.

And then...

Oh, and then...

He circled the legs of one of my coworkers, sniffing her. Then came over to me, sniffed me, and promptly lifted his leg to pee on me.

I pulled back, yelling, "Oh HELL no!" But I wasn't fast enough to avoid getting dog urine on my shoe. I washed it off in the bathroom, but I felt really gross - like maybe there was urine on my jeans, too, but I couldn't see it because jeans are dark and absorbent.

So... I went home and as soon as I got in the door, I pulled my shoes and my pants off, and immediately threw them into the washing machine.

The thing that pisses me off? The owner didn't even apologize for his dog's behavior. He didn't act like it was even anything out of the norm. My CEO apologized to me, but the owner of the dog did not.

What does that tell you?

12:47 pm: Apparently, I'm turning Japanese
Hubby came home and told me that while he was driving, listening to the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, he thought, "We should make a Sex Bob-omb T-shirt and then have someone asian model it and send a picture to Bryan Lee O'Malley... Hey, I can have Karin model it. She's asian." ...guess I really am turning Japanese.

11:05 pm: Xmas hurts my legs
I was pretty much standing in my kitchen from 10am until 8pm today.

I have made:
72 buckeyes
~15 orange creme filled chocolates
~15 coconut creme filled chocolates
~15 raspberry creme filled chocolates
~20 flourless chocolate torte filled chocolates - maybe more. I'm going to call them truffles.
~20 chocolate covered cherries (the cherries have been soaking in mango rum for a week)
~10 white chocolate covered oreos.

I still have 12 more buckeyes to make, minimum (the peanut butter centers are done. I just need to melt the dark chocolate for their coatings - the others are all milk chocolate.), and I'm planning on making some butter cookies.

I may also make some peanut butter cups and some Christmas (cardamom) bread.

My legs really really really hurt.

09:57 am: Unbelievable stupidity from coworkers
Our office allows people to bring dogs in.
There is one dog who when his owner has to leave his office to go to meet with someone and he leaves him behind in his office, the dog starts barking like crazy.

And, apparently, the people I work with think that the best thing to do to show him that this behavior is unacceptable is to go pick him up and pet him.

This dog is NEVER going to stop barking when left alone. Because he knows that if he barks like crazy, someone will come pet him.

I mean, how stupid do you have to be?

I can understand going to check to make sure he's not dying - but once you see that, leave him alone! That's the only way he'll realize that his efforts do not get him the desired results. If you pet a dog every time they do something bad, you're only encouraging the bad behavior!

These are the same people who will be raising kids in another couple of years. Anyone want to venture a guess at how well-behaved those kids are going to be?

08:48 pm: HELP!
 Seriously,
I can't think of anything to carve on my pumpkin. I need ideas.
Creepy cool ideas.
Anything.
What is your favorite dark character from an anime or manga?
What is your favorite freaky scene?
Give me something to get my brain running - I BEG of you!

07:14 pm: Help! I can't remember the manga's name!
There is a manga I was reading. Supposedly takes place in historical Japan when western influence was starting to hit the noble circles. (think victorian dress instead of kimono)
A VERY poor girl with an older brother who is a gambler keeps taking in orphans and raising them - even though she can barely keep herself fed.
A rich guy, who needs to get married to keep his inheritance, basically buys her - promises to take care of all the little kids and her older brother, if she'll become his wife, learning proper manners. But the caveat is that she can never fall in love with him.
His friend & rival falls for the girl, and at first she finds him attractive. But bit by bit, she starts falling for her husband.

Does this strike a bell with anyone?
